North of Cairns to Port Douglas. We continued our travels into the rain forest. We went to Daintree National Park. It is the oldest rain forest in the world and has been declared a world heritage site. The trees, vines and humidity are like nothing we have ever experienced before. It's full of fabulous, exotic plants and animals.
The only place in the world where two world heritage sites meet - the Daintree and the Great Barrier Reef. We took a snorkelling tour out to Opal Reef. The coral and fish were pretty amazing. No underwater photos, though. We've done that before and we found we spend too much time getting the photos that National Geographic has already taken and done a better job of. In fact, our second stop on this trip was a place National Geographic had been out to the year before to photograph the coral. So if you want to see what it looked like go on line and have a look. We just enjoyed swimming and looking.
Great set-up for snorkeling.
We've also had some time to relax on the nearly-deserted beaches. It's off season down here right now. Mal's over his cold and is back to normal. Hence the jungle vine stuff. Sigh.
We're starting to head south down the coast, not really sure of our route yet. Serendipity.

Mal and Cindy that dive boat looked great. I'm sure the diving was even better. Keep the photos coming we're enjoying them Just for your information it SNOWED the other day. Bryan and Sue.
